To be fair...

I know, I'm all over this Nikki and Kristen thing these days. I can't help it... I've got this pretty finely tuned Bullsh*t detector, and this whole thing has just set it off. Not wondering about the nature of their relationship, but the obvious cover-up and "damage control" of removing Nikki Reed from all PR, and them not being seen together after months of being inseperable.

But in all fairness, I do remember what it was like to be in my early twenties. Having nothing to hold me back and just enjoy life (I still have that but just with some responsibilities to set a few boundaries to the madness, LOL).
Anyway, one of the reasons I remember this time of my life so fondly and vividly, is because it's when I met the love of my life.

We started out becoming the very best of friends, and our relationship was definitely very physically close as well - though not sexual. Oh, of course, it is quite sensual when you're always touching and staying practically attached at the hips and holding hands, but we insisted we were just friends.
We became friends knowing we were both gay (we met online and were both just looking for other gay friends actually), and so we opened up completely to each other immediately. There's nothing to hide or fake, when you're building a friendship, and not dating. LOL, everyone else thought it was obvious that we were actually falling in love and practicaly dating - no matter what we called it - and eventually, when we spent a night apart for the first time in weeks, we caved in.

During some late night texting, my new best friend (and favorite person in the Universe to be completely honest) suddenly asked if I thought we should be more than just friends. Without hesistation, I knew that I did. And after panicking over my cell phone suddenly refusing to send my reply - and creating some panic at the other end because no reply came - I finally managed to get a signal by hanging out the window with my cell phone.
Just a few days before, we had talked about how we really didn't have room to date anyone, cause we had each other. And any girlfriend would have to accept that we were best friends and physically close, cause we had no intention of not cuddling up next to one another in bed og stop holding hands. And what girlfriend would - or should - ever accept that. I certainly never would have myself. On the other hand, we didn't want to ruin our amazing friendship, so we knew we should be happy with "just" that. LOL, yeah, right, Sometimes you have to accept that you do have choices, and don't have to settle for less than what your heart desires. It probably would have ruined us if we hadn't realized what was happening.

Anyway, my point... when I see Nikki and Kristen (or Lindsay and Samantha back in the day, for that matter), then I see myself and Wifey. Being happy and carefree, not caring or minding that nobody else understands our relationship. But looking back, those people [our friends who knew us very well apperantly] who we claimed didn't understand what we had, were all probably just a lot quicker at seeing what was happening, while we were happy just living it.

And, looking back, I wouldn't have done a single thing differently... It was perfect! :o)

    Lovingly,

Woohoo, that's my Drew!

Yes, I know, TWO entire posts in just one day... What is the world coming to? Anyway, I've always adored Drew (she's got "The Drew" status just like Ellen, but I'll humor those in doubt) Barrymore. She's always so happy and seem to genuinely wish to make other people happy. And she has always been a great support for all LGBT issues. Still, I can't help but get a huge smile across my face, when I just now stumbled across pictures of her taking part in a protest march in California against Prop 8 and the need for marriage equality.

I've loved her book "Little Girl Lost" since I first read it many years ago, and she has come so very far - both personally and professionally. Usually, I say either "my Drew" or "that's me" when I see her. The first because I'm proud of the things she does and the second because she always wears outfits that would look great on me. :oP Now, I would need to get in better shape and go to the hairdresser a lot more often to tame my WILD hair - my hair is the one thing about me my Wifey can't tame, LOL - but other than that there is quite a good resemblance. ;o)

Oh, Drew, if only you would "turn gay" it would be the coolest day. Not because I'd trade Wifey in for you (or anyone one else), but I would just be so proud to have you on our team. Hmm, then again, I suppose we already have that. :o)

Rock ON with your bad self and God(dess) bless you, Drew Barrymore!

    One happy homo-camper,

Dreams of pregnancy

No, I have no desire to get pregnant anytime soon – if ever… probably never, actually. However, what my nifty little headline refers to are actual dreams I’ve been having about once a year for the past 4-5 years.

What interesting is that these dreams always seem to follow the same storyline, even if the scenery is always changing:

Part 1) The dream begins and suddenly I look down and see my VERY pregnant belly (we’re talking 8 months pregnant). At first I always seem to get very happy at this discovery, but this feeling only lasts for about 10 seconds. Then comes…

Part 2) PANIC! I am not at all ready to have a child. What am I gonna do? What about that trip we’re taking to New York next month? Well, we’ll have to cancel that. And I’ll have to tell my workplace that I’m going on maternity leave in like a day or two…

Part 3) HOW did this even happen? At this point I’m always with my dear wife and telling her that I swear I haven’t been cheating on her (which I never would in ANY case, and she knows this). Besides, I’m a Goldstar lesbian (you know, never had sex with a man), so we’d really be talking Immaculate Conception here.

Part 4) My wife believes me and seems much calmer than me, which is always very comforting. There’s not even the tiniest doubt or confusion… obviously she just got me pregnant and we’re not surprised that our lesbian lovechild is making me look 8 months pregnant within a day or two. But me, I’m still in a state of panic and feel like my life is ending.

Part 5) I wake up and immediately feel my stomach and breathe a heavy sigh of relief… then I wake up Wifey and tell her I’ve had a scary dream, and she holds me.

However, as the years go by (and more of our friends start getting babies), my REAL concern is if I ever have this dream and I don’t panic. What will this mean? And will I then panic when I wake up because I’ll suddenly feel an overwhelming need to get pregnant as soon as possible.

Only time will tell… but for now, I have ALL that I need and I am so immensely thankful for everything. :o)

I LOVE Chevy's!

The fresh, delicious Mexican food that I simply cannot get enough of - their Sizzling Fajitas are especially good at getting my juices flowing. If I could only go to one restaurant for the rest of my life, Chevy's would definitely be in my top five. Why not number one, you say?! Well, my conscience comes into play here, and in order to give myself even more delicious and healthy options (if we're talking one restaurant for the rest of my life), I'd have to go with Fresh Choice, which is one of my all time top favorites too.

But still... Chevy's is and always will be the place I HAVE to go to, if I was travelling to a city, where they have a franchise. Oh, and for the record, they DON'T have one where we live - both my Wifey and I adore Chevy's and actually, she's the one who introduced me to it (Thanks Hon!). The truth is, when we plan our vacations and decide on i.e. a road trip, then we'll actually plan our route based on where we can drop by a Chevy's.

I think we've gone to about 4 or 5 different Chevy's so far, and my favorite is probably the one in New York (right by Times Square and next to two movie theaters) and not only because the food has been perfect and the staff absolutely wonderful (and often gay, LOL), but also because when we're in New York, neither of us will have to drive home, cause we'll just walk home.
And you know what that means:

GayGirl & Wifey: "We'll both have a Margarita"
Cute waiter: "You want the regular or large one?"
GayGirl & Wifey (quick look at each other and then the waiter gets our answer in unision): "LARGE, please!"

And of course, we also have the Chevy's Cookbook, so now we go a little crazy sometimes and cook up all the delicious dishes (along with Margaritas, of course)... Still, there is nothing like the real deal.

Oh Chevy's... I miss you - and my mouth is watering just from thinking about you! ;o)
