5 bad habits

Oh yes, I have bad habits, and while they can be annoying, good things often come from them. In other words, while I may need to watch these bad habits and keep them in check, there isn't necessarily a reason to drop them...like a bad habit. ;o)

    1) I need to control my very spontaneous and intense happiness when a song comes on the radio, and Wifey is driving the car.
It has happened a few times (okay, maybe a few more than what most people would consider "few") and Wifey's heart is usually in her throat, because she thinks she's about to hit something or someone with the car. Apparently my "OH!" while jumping in the seat next to her can be confusing when we turning out onto the highway. My bad. But it certainly makes sure she's completely awake and aware - even more so than she would normally be. You're welcome, babe!

    2) I bite my nails. Not all the time and not intensely, but I do bite my nails. Often it's if I'm either stressed out about something, or I'm watching a scary/interesting movie or reading a book, and I'm not aware of it at all really.

The really bad thing about this is the fact that I cannot stand the sound of other people biting their nails. I mean, I REALLY can't stand it. The hairs on the back of my neck stand, I grind my teeth and my pulse increases dramatically, while I fight the urge to yell "Would you STOP that, you psychotic freak!" I'm sure I look quite psychotic, when I try to restrain myself, and I've never actually verbally - or otherwise - attacked someone. Wifey is the only person who knows how much I detest the sound, so she's always aware which really calms me. However, she's also the one who likes to point out - a bit too much - when I'm biting my nails. But hey, as a gay girl, I can also point out to her that usually she's very happy I don't have long nails. Touché!

    Not a gay girl...

    3) Procrastination! Oh yes, it's a bitch... YouTube and Google, I blame thee! However, I also love thee. A LOT! And while procrastination is a bad and stressful thing in the long run, I have also stumbled across a lot of brilliant things in my attempts to distract myself from whatever task I actually had at hand and should be getting into.
That's how I have found several brilliant shows and movies, but also, I've found websites and people that have come to be a wonderful part of my day and overall joy in life. So really, it can't be all that bad. And it's how I found out about the TV shows "Mistresses", "Skins", "Los Hombres de Paco", "Las Aparicio", "Pretty Little Liars", "Glee" and many more. Shows that I had heard of, but didn't know to watch and probably wouldn't have chosen to watch, since I already have a billion other shows I like to watch.

    4) I watch a lot of TV. I have learned SO much from it; Languages, knowledge about history, biology, people, music and life. So to sum it up, I watch a lot of TV. Always have, always will. I heart TV. Period.
    I really do!

    5) I also love movies and music and spend obscene amounts of time watching, listening and going to the Movie Theater or concerts whenever possible and relevant. But my bad habit is that I don't read enough books. And in that respect, the gay internet really hasn't helped me much, because it is taking a lot of time away from reading more books. But I LOVE the gay internet, so I guess I'll just have to find time elsewhere. Maybe I should just give up sleeping? Then again, I'm going on about six hours a night as it is. I love to stay up late and get up early... make the most of every day. I just love life and all there is to experience too much, I suppose. And that's hardly a bad thing!

I wish you all a beautiful weekend.

Image of Sunday

I had already decided on this image last week, but then I started doubting as I was seeing pictures from the various Pride Parades in countries around the world. However, I quickly realized that my choice is VERY gay and even has a clear rainbow theme, so I stuck with it.

My Image of Sunday and wallpaper for the week. GLEE:
However, I also have a bonus, which is actually much more important to me than the image this week. When I saw this video yesterday from the Mexico City Pride Parade, it was immediately clear that nothing else would do.

But first, the story behind it. You see, I am CRAZY about the new mexican soap "Las Aparicio", which has the best gay couple on TV right now. However, I can't see it, so I found it a few weeks ago, when I stumbled across a clip on YouTube and so I have been catching up by watching all the scenes while reading recaps. I highly recommed - and by "highly recommend" I mean you MUST do it - reading Ingrid Diaz' recaps, which are readily avaible at her website now, but she will also be doing recaps of the show for AfterEllen starting next week. This was announced this week in "Best.Lesbian.Week.Ever":

"Julia and Mariana finally did it on Las Aparicio (thanks for the tip, Betty!) The show's stars Erendira Ibarra (Mariana) and Liz Gallardo (Julia) will be at the Mexico City Pride Parade this Saturday. Check back next week for our recaps (starting with the first episode and running until we're current) by Ingrid Diaz."

So... of course, I now have to give you two bonus videos, since you also need a little teaser/taster of the show.

First the kiss at Mexico City Pride Parade - please note the "Legalize Gay" T-shirts (I REALLY need to get at least one of those)...:

And then of course, I should give you the scene, where they "finally did it"... but you need to get to that in your own time, and instead just start with the first kis between them (which is from the first episode, because YES, this show is just that awesome). Enjoy!

And like I said earlier, you really need to get on board for this show, so start reading those recaps and watching those videos. I promise you, it is well worth your time. ;o)

Also, I read this statement below very recently, and it is SO true after both "Chich Busca Chica", Pepa and Silvia (aka PepSi) of "Los Hombres de Paco" and now Julia and Mariana (aka Juliana) of "Las Aparicio" plus various other movies. (if you know who said this first, then please let me know and I will gladly spread that info as well)

SPANISH = the new language of lesbians!

Maybe that's why I am now kicking my quest for learning the language into high gear. I am listening to Spanish radio every day at work - plus I was already rooting for Spain as the winner of the soccer World Cup 2010, so I was on the right track. ;o)

    Have a beautiful week,
    - GayGirl

P.S. One more "Spanish is the new language of lesbians"-fact: Mexican soap actress Kenia Gazcón just came out of the closet this past week (hat tip @ AfterEllen via LesbiCanarias), and it would appear she's the first ever Mexican actress to publicly come out. Congratulations Kenia... and welcome! :o)Source URL: https://quinnfabrayhair.blogspot.com/search/label/glee

It's so strange how a person, who's basically crude and obnoxious can make you laugh so damn hard. I suppose it's because Sue Sylvester always just speaks her mind and holds nothing back, which is sort of charming in her own way... Also, we all know she has a heart of gold and wants to push people to succeed (and thus make her a success as well, of course). Her entire persona is like performance art based on the song "I am what I am".

Here's your Image of Sunday and my desktop wallpaper for the next week:

Somehow this woman calling me a loser just inpires me to do better... Maybe that's also how "Sue C's it"? ;o)

Besides, she's played by Jane Lynch. Enough said! The woman has made a career out of playing ballsy, intelligent [often gay] women with the best one-liners.

So of course, the bonus for this week, is this little video she made with Electric Spoofaloo:

Today should've been an easy choice, but I was conflicted; Should I go with Glee since they had their season ending just recently OR should I go with True Blood since season 3 premieres today?

The result either way would be campy and very VERY gay... so really, I couldn't lose. And I decided that since we'll get plenty of True Blood in the weeks to come, but no more Glee, we need to celebrate the beginning of a new season and then have an excuse to look at Glee wallpapers once or twice (at least) during the summer. ;o)

But still there was another choice to be made: The new promotional shot OR the lips and tongue which symbolizes the show. Yet again, I realize that I can't lose either way and, in any case, I don't have to choose.

So here comes both - I'm starting out with the first one as my wallpaper and then I might switch it up during the week. I'm just a rebel that way!

    ... and the bonus version:

    Have a great week...

The good and the bad

Some good and bad news have been coming out these past few weeks. First the really bad news: Kristen Stewart and Nikki Reed won't both be in the upcoming movie K-11, which would have had them playing a couple.

The film mysteriously got postponed after both actresses had mentioned it in interviews, but the more the lesbian rumors surfaced, the more the two had to be kept completely separate. First Nikki Reed wasn't part of the promotion tour for the Twilight movies [read my outing of this here]. In fact, the picture here below is from just such an event, where she showed up even though it wasn't planned - you can read about it at JustJared - and then they were inseparable... as usual:

Latest thing is that now she has dropped out (or probably been removed) from the next movie she would be making with Kristen. It all seems and sounds very umm odd... to put it mildly.

Very bad - and sad - news indeed, but the powers that be [*cough* Summit Entertainment] are obviously very persistent about keeping them completely apart.

And the good news? The other sweet couple [of BFF's] I'm keeping my eye on - Dianna Agron and Lea Michele from Glee - both made it onto the AfterEllen 2010 Hot 100 list. YAY, how wonderful and GAY!!!

Lea Michele came in at #16, which means she made her debut to the Hot 100 list on the exact same place as Kristen Stewart did the year before... I see a pattern. Let's hope Dianna Agron won't suddenly be forced out of all Glee promotion and kept away from Lea.

And speaking of Dianna Agron, she came in at a very impressive #26

#1 went to Olivia Wilde and Kristen Stewart came in at a very impressive #2 (like I mentioned before, she had her debut on the list last year at #16).

Congratulations to all the Hot 100 women that made the list - and all the gorgeous and wonderful women that didn't as well. ;o)

Lea Michele and Dianna Agron? I like it!

I’ve been silent about these two, but I simply cannot hold my tongue any longer, so here goes: What is really going on between Lea Michele and Dianna Agron? (aka Rachel Berry and Quinn Fabray of Glee).

Okay, I’ll admit it, maybe they’re just best friends, who like to hug and cuddle. A lot. In public. All the time. I mean, I’ve had friends that I was very close and cuddly with, but that was in my early teens and never anywhere near as much as with these two.
Actually, wait... I did meet a girl, who I knew was gay like me, and we became best friends very quickly and were exactly as close as Lea and Dianna are. I mean it’s like a total déjà vu. In my case, the girl and I also became roommates. In fact, we shared a bed and would spoon and hold hands every chance we got. Of course, it did evolve from there and we had to admit there was a reason to all the hand holdning, spooning and nussling – oh yeah, I forgot to mention that, didn’t I? Huh, I wonder if they nussle as well? Hmm...

Anyway [getting my mind back on track], we were close in every way except kissing – or anything that would come after kissing – since we were very adamant about wanting to keep this great friendship. Even all our friends were asking when we’d take it to the next level and admit that there was so much more going on than simply a new best friend. But here we are almost nine years later and we’re still best friends… of course, my point – and I do have one – is that the girl is now my wife.
    Here come the brides?

So yeah, I look forward to following Lea and Dianna’s relationship – no matter what the nature of it may be… or become. ;o)

    Feeling a bit romantic,
